That 'missing link', has always been the same:

Your Microbiome.

Your gut hosts 500-2000 species of microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites) that make up your microbiome.

There are roughly 40 trillion bacterial cells in your body and only 30 trillion human cells.

That means you are more bacteria than human! WOW!

Altogether, these microbes may weigh as much as 2–5 pounds (1–2 kg), which is roughly the weight of your brain.

In fact, our little bugs are like a ‘second brain’.

Over millions of years, we have evolved to have a symbiotic relationship with them and they function as an extra organ in our bodies, one that develops a multitude of functions:

Strengthens our Immune System

70% of all your immune system lives in your gut. Makes sense right?

Think about it, you are constantly putting weird, external, and potentially hazardous stuff inside your body through your mouth.

It's basically the first gate where infectious jerks can enter your body and mess with your health.

So most of our immune system is in there to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Your microbiome keeps you pooping by regulating your gut motility :)

Yep. Our bugs release some substances when they ‘eat’ or ferment some beneficial foods, like fiber.

These substances work in tandem with our intestinal cell and nerves so we can run smoothly.

Improves our nutritional profile.

Some of the nutrients in foods we eat are not well-broken down until they get to our large intestine.

Our gut bacteria is in charge of breaking up some food compounds and facilitating the absorption of vitamins and minerals for us, like B12.

Helps with weight loss and management

Several well-known studies* have shown that the gut microbiome differed completely between identical twins, one of whom was obese and one of whom was healthy.

In one study, when the microbiome from the obese twin was transferred to mice, they gained more weight than the mice that had received the microbiome of the lean twin, despite both groups eating the same diet like B12.

Controls blood sugar and insulin sensitivity

Turns out, our microbiome produces and sends (through the portal vein that connects the gut with the liver) certain molecules that control how the liver sends glucose into the blood.

Our bugs are like troops reporting to the Liver commander how much glucose (or how little) our cells need based on what  we eat!

Boosts mood and mental health.

Certain species of bacteria can help produce chemicals in the brain called neurotransmitters.

For example, 95% of serotonin (an antidepressant neurotransmitter) is made in the gut.

I have a lot of this one, that’s why I’m always super energetic, and bubbly, and on “do stuff” mode.

The gut is also physically connected (through millions of nerves) to the brain, therefore, affecting brain health by helping control the messages that are sent up there through these nerves.

Our microbiome does all of that and sooo many more things.

Since the organs in the body don't operate in a vacuum...
...the things that affect the liver, affect the pancreas, affect the brain, affect the heart, and so on and so forth.

Our microbiome is like a health powerhouse :)

It helps all aspects of our health.

Or at least, a healthy microbiome does...

You see, not all bacteria in our microbiome is 'good'.
In fact, we can classify the different strains of bacteria in three different types:

 

The good ones:

These are the necessary ones. Your gut police. Like police bugs. Not enough of these and gut and health suffers.
.

The bad ones: 

These guys aren’t so nice… downright harmful in fact. They kill our police bugs, the more we have of these, the more our health suffers.

The ones in between:

These are good (even necessary) in the right amounts. If they grow too much or too little, things get off balance and we have problems.

And that's the key, balance.

The problem comes when we lose our balance.

Things like stress, antibiotics, food poisoning, bad diet, or even structural issues can mess with your microbiome and produce bacterial imbalances.

There's a direct correlation between the 'bad bacteria' and the 'good bacteria'.

The more you have from one, the less you have from the other.

When you have more of the bad ones, is when things go south very quickly.

These bad bacteria produce toxins, gases, and inflammatory substances by fermenting

some compounds found in healthy foods.

(Which sucks right?)

On top of that, the good bacteria are not there to break down and use some of the good elements found in healthy foods (like fiber).

And for that reason, they get fermented in your gut, producing more toxins, gases, and inflammatory compounds.

This 'perfect storm' has a very detrimental effect on your overall health.

Remember when we said that the organs in the body don't operate in a vacuum?

Check this out!

First, these gases and toxins cause the gas, bloating, and cramps people with IBS or SIBO experience, but things don't end there.

These toxins can have a detrimental effect on your gut's motility by affecting the nerves surrounding it, causing constipation, diarrhea, or both (just like happened to me).

When they eventually make it to your bloodstream that's where things get reeeeally nasty...

Skin problems, allergies, rashes, acne, rosacea, all of them can be caused by gut problems.

Your brain also needs blood, so when the toxins get up there, you get an inflamed brain.

Basically, you start feeling brain fog, headaches, migraines, all of that.

Also, malabsorption and leaky gut (caused by the proliferation of bacteria that breaks the intestinal membranes) makes this -and everything else- worse.

Once this happens, not only is your body not absorbing the nutrients, but things can get into your blood that aren't meant to. 

Well, after spending years healing my SIBO and my microbiome...
After feeling the before and after in my
own skin (figuratively and literally)
After feeling the results in my gut, my digestion, and my life...

And more importantly, after doing the same for hundreds of other men and women...
I can tell you this with absolute certainty:
There's no 'one thing to do' or 'one-size-fits-all' solution.

If you go to the internet, most people will say that there's one thing that trumps
everything.

The right type of probiotics.
Eat Fermented Foods.
Avoid processed and sugary food.
Drink that beet and spinach smoothie.


It's not actually how that works. There's no 'one magic thing'.

You have to do a couple of utterly important things very well.

Remember that we are talking about 40 trillion bacteria in your gut and hundreds or even thousands of different species.

Trillions of little bugs living inside ourselves!

That's why it's so hard to heal the microbiome and so easy for your digestive problems, autoimmune conditions, and infections to come back.

What you need is a broader, holistic approach to heal your gut once and for all.

One that looks at the problem from all the different angles.

And more importantly, an approach fully personalized to you.

One that takes into account your past history and your current symptoms.
And one that takes into account your goals and the lifestyle you want to have once the storm has passed.

Can I take this course if I have SIBO?
If you have SIBO, you can’t take Microbiome Mastery. Please get on the waitlist for SIBO Freedom.

Maybe you have had SIBO in the past and are still experiencing some issues or maybe you have candida or other gut issues. If so this course is for you.

I’m sure cost differs but could you give me an average for about how much the supplements cost?
It depends on how much you need. You should budget on between $100 and $300 a month. If you don’t need much support outside of your digestive system, you won’t need many supplements. But if you’re also super low in energy, or also have a hormonal imbalance and… You might need a little bit more.
